Dinner, movie and dancing until the weee hours of the night.......

Sleepovers are so much fun!
Mandy had 3 of her friends spend the night,
we started with a dinner date to El Torito Grill:

(it was their idea to get all dressed up)

When we got home they wanted to watch a movie and they all begged me to watch the "Bratz" movie. I was a little nervous as I have not seen it, the name is not very inviting, and the dolls are ugly. But I caved. And of course I watched it with them just in case we needed to press STOP!

While a bit cheesy, it was actually a cute movie. It was about 4 girls who had been friends since childhood. When they got into high shool they all had different interest (cheerleading, soccer, choir, fashion design) and ended up growing apart. A couple of years later they regroup and realize they miss each other and are all best buds again.

So your asking where does the "Bratz" part come in? Well, let me tell you - there was a popular, rich, spoiled girl who was jealous of their friendship and tried to break them up and was telling everyone that they were brats! Of course in the end good wins over evil and they all live happily ever after......breath..........

We ended up talking about friendship and how important it is to accept each other for who they are and support each other's interest. It was really cute and they got it! (they have been friends since kindergarten). So the cheeseball movie was a success. And the girls memorized one of the dances in the movie and danced for a good hour = tired girls.

(notice that they are all in the air - what talent)

then it was night- night time..........

It's been a long time since I've had dinner, a movie and dancing but I have to say that it was a fun date :} And just for your viewing pleasure or if you would like dance lessons here is video of these cute Bratz....................

SNOW DAY..........................

This weekend I went up to the cabin with two of my good friends for what was supposed to be just one night of fun and relaxation. Well - Mother Nature had other ideas...................

When we first got there we had to plow a parking space (why do you think I brought friends) - but the weather was beautiful!

After we relaxed and watched a movie we got all bundled up and went to Sonora's Mexican Restuarant. YUMMY! Then decided to head to Chad's to play some pool and hang out. At around 9:00 we decided it was our bed time and were heading home when we met a fun group of people and ended up playing darts, foozball (sp?) and dancing until 2:00 in the morning!!!! Us tired, dead head Mom's were up having fun until the A.M.!!!!!!

When we woke up in the morning this is what we found:

About 2 more feet of snow! Soooooo Sherri went to put the chains (that I borrowed from my sister) on the tires and they wouldn't fit! Off I went for 3 HOURS looking for the right size chains. By this time it was pretty much blizzarding - the wind really did knock me off my feet! $140 later, 4 hours of stress, and locals telling us we were crazy - we resolved to just stay another night! So as soon as we all got our kids taken care of back home - it was time for some real FUN!!!We dug into my chest of snow clothes (nothing fit us) and went and played in the snow!!

Since we were really tired (uh-hum) and hungry we decided to brave the snow and go find food. We found that on a blizzardy, Sunday night in Big Bear there is not much open - Our options were Sizzler (yum) or an Oreintal food place. We opted for Pongs. Wasn't all that great - but it was food!!

Making our way back into the cabin..........

And this would be why doors open in.............

It really was soooo pretty and I think God knew we needed one more day of R&R.

It had snowed all night so the drive home was a little scary - but there was no wind - and with the chains on the tires we were just fine! We are WOMEN - hear us roar.

This ended up being a fun, special, relaxing, bonding time with my two dear friends - I love you Trina and Sherri - thanks for being such troopers! When are we gonna have another snow day??
