to SLO we go..................

I'm feeling a little sad right now. I'm already missing my brother Sean and sister-in-law Lindsey and of course the kids. We had such a fun couple of days. I love the slow pace days of San Luis Obispo, of course we try to fit so much into each day that it's not exactly a slow pace - it was more like a SLO pace. The Hamen's came too and it was fun to share my family with my good friends and my good friends with my family :}
Amber & Ashley took the train with their friend Kristina. They had the time of their life and wanted to take it home also but mean Momma said Nooooo.

Mandy and I had a great drive up the coast - this has to be my favorite drive, I can feel myself relaxing as soon as I pull out of the driveway. We stopped at a little hidden beach in Santa Barbara to get our feet wet.

So much love with cousins!

Craft time:

Linds helped us make these cute balls - the girls all made some to match their rooms.

We had "operation flower power" every night to help Linds with her project :}

It is so beautiful on the central coast. Cathi and I were in awe at God's work.
We took a hike up above Morro Bay and ended up on a cliff overlooking the most breathtaking views.

I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to show my kids God's wonder and hope that they appreciate his gifts to us.

Of course we had to hit the beach to look for sand dollars.

Court and David stopped by on their way to San Francisco - nice little treat :)

A quick stop by "The Barn" (?) A cute fruit stand, petting zoo and ice cream shop - all in one.

And what's a trip to SLO with out the Thursday night farmers market - yummy. And I got some pretty flowers.

Amber with Jeffrey (aka Dad #2)

Mandy climbing - what a shock :) She made it to the top though!!

I think they call this "Gum Alley" ewhhhh - but of course I had to add my piece.

One of the favorite things for the kids that we did was to go to Cal Poly to see the baby horses. They are so darn cute and soft!

This is pretty much what my brother did all week - but what did I expect coming in the middle of the week!! I'm proud of you little brother!! And actually the adults did go to dinner at a nice restaurant called "Blu" downtown. (By the way - thanks for picking up the bill Jeff!! You the man!)

On the drive home we stopped off at the Pier in Santa Barbara and ate some lunch, it was such a perfect day. Thank you Hamens for joining us on this road trip!! It was so fun (of course everything we do with you is fun).

Leaving Sean and Linds and the girls was so hard, I feel like just when I'm bonding with them I have to leave :{..... But like I told Sean - a little time is better then no time. We also thought of some great career choices for me - haha.

"Wake up Auntie!!"

Thank you Lindsey for being so hospitable and making us feel so welcome - it was quite the crew. I love you guys and can't wait to see you all again!!!!!

Happy Easter

I love Easter. Just a happy day all around. Christ is risen!! Yeah!! The kids have risen (out of their beds - and with teenagers this is not easy!) Our blood sugar rises! And on this Easter Sunday the SUN
has risen!
What a pretty day.
Here's a peak into what a ROJAS Easter looks like:
Waiting to see if the big bunny came :}
Yes!! He/she came!! It was a "Rainbow" Easter!!

Then off to church my chicas..............

Did you know that Easter Eggs grow on Trees???
Well at my Aunt Lois' and Uncle Ray's they do!

And the kids wasted no time finding them

Even the big kids - and they weren't after the candy ($)

they also found eggs with tasks in them
(they had to do the tasks to get the $ - like hug a sibling and tell them why you love them)
How cute is this baby!!
I love me some Isaiah

And the last stop was to Grandpa and Grandma Rojas' for some more swimming and more hunting................. and more food of course

It was such a nice day.

Family, friends, good food, sun, swim, loads of candy, no traffic.

I'm seeing green!

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!

that's "Webdings" for

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!

(what the heck is that webdings font anyways - who speaks that language????)

Being that my name is "Shannon Cheney"
(and no - I'm not related to any vice president)

we celebrated in true IRISH fashion:

Ye Old Irish Family........

Ye corn beef and cabbage
(looked better in person and tasted YUMMY)

Is this too much green?

what you can't see is that these were all blinking lights - it was cool :}
And now I leave you with some Irish blessings & wisdom:

"May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you In the palm of his hand."
(I love that one)
Dance as if no one's watching,
sing as if no one's listening,
and live everyday as if it were your last.
(I'm just glad that no one is watching when I dance or listening when I sing)
A whistling woman and a crowing hen
will bring no luck to the house they are in.
(huh?)

Oh well, the corn beef was good :}
Happy green day
